This course provides a further look at quality literacy instruction.  Students will develop examples of literacy activities focusing on CAFÉ strategies while connecting them to Common Core Standards and the 5 Essentials of Reading (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics (Accuracy), Fluency, Comprehension, and Vocabulary), deepen their knowledge of literacy assessments by administering them to determine the needs of their tutee, develop individual and appropriate instructional plans based on these learning needs and including learning styles, interests, and strengths, interview and observe in a classroom to analyze literacy instruction and classroom environment. Students will complete a classroom case study with multiple data sources in order to develop a 3 week plan for Tier I and Tier II instruction with both whole and small group instruction.    Prerequisite EN 442
